Cruse welcomes Suzy Pelta as an Ambassador
We’re delighted to announce that Flavour & Food Trend Expert and Foodie Personality, Suzy Pelta, has become our newest Ambassador.
In 2012, Suzy won Lorraine’s Cake Club Competition on ITV1’s ‘Lorraine’ Show with her original cake recipe of a Chocolate and Banana Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting.
Since winning, she has written her first book: Miracle Mug Cakes and Other Cheat’s Bakes and has been a Food Blogger for The Metro. She also regularly demonstrates and presents at Food Festivals throughout the UK including BBC Good Food Show.
Whilst writing her first book her mum was diagnosed with Lymphoma, and just 5 months later, she died. Very sadly, just 2 1/2 years after her mum passed away, her Dad died too after a blood cancer diagnosis.
“I want to show bereaved people that they are not alone on the rollercoaster of grief. That we can go through the hardest and darkest of days and still be able to find reasons to smile and light and joy. And that it is ok to feel everything all at once. That it’s normal to feel so much and yet also sometimes feel completely numb. That it’s normal to feel pain and relief and sadness and happiness and everything in between. That talking about, experiencing and sharing grief is normal and healthy. That sharing our stories and our pain is ok.”
Suzy is a big fan of our Cuppa for Cruse campaign and is looking forward to getting involved, “I am just really excited to be working with Cruse to help raise awareness for the services you offer and to help show that bereavement and grief is something we don’t have to go through alone”.
